That was my least favourite run for a while. I ate about x4 normal person’s meals and had two portions of ice cream when I got in from work. Then fell asleep in Mac’s bed whilst he read me a story. Then had to psyche myself up to actually put my shoes on. Then walked the first hill because I felt sick, before stacking it in the woods and running out of battery on the head torch. Petrifying being 3miles away from civilisation with only a dying phone for light. I probably ran the final woodland section faster than ever in the hope I’d be out and in the street lights before it went completely flat.

ARGH....The aggravation!!! I had it planned....ok! Woke early and was at the track by 5am to beat the incoming rain (that looks to be staying for at least a day or two...maybe three). I also, legit hit my mileage for the week on my warm up, so everything after really should be looked as a positive, right...🤨 but so help me, the disgust you feel as a runner when you cut a good workout short. Lightning started popping and had to call it at 4 miles. I stopped with only a half mile left. Only a half mile. But this popped up today of me and this one (see finger pointing in pic) 9 years ago at a Maccabees gig we both snuck out to when we were stressed out a week before our Finals/Masters dissertation were due. One of the best nights we’ve ever had together. Now, next week, we’re running the Copenhagen marathon, in this heat, and I’ve got a feeling we’re going to get each other through that again and have one of the best weekends we’ve ever had together too!
I know you didn’t really want to run this @ashley_bennettx but honestly, I couldn’t run it without you! I can feel you cringing now so I’ll stop 🖤
The last long run of the training plan...it’s all tapering from here baby! 😘 Till the marathon...😐 Race trial weekend from Friday afternoon, timings of breakfast, water, energy gels, outfit, 7:30am set off! Bad cramp in my calves cut the run short by 0.75km so need to focus on my stride and running form when I’m feeling tired on the day, but otherwise everything else felt goooood! And I broke that 20 mile barrier - physically and mentally!
