Phew. December is hard. I am riding the struggle bus. I’ve set some new goals tonight to keep me motivated through the end of December. I’m putting these out there and making them public so I can be accountable for getting them done. Most evenings these days I don’t feel like working out, it would be more comfortable to lay on the couch and watch tv. It’s cold, it’s dark outside and my brain pretty much wants my body to hibernate all the time. Thankfully, moving this body has become a habit so I get it done. That’s not to say I enjoy it in the moment, but I enjoy how I feel when I’m done. Let’s get through this month and start January with some momentum! 😊
Can you believe this year is almost over?
When it began I had big goals running wise, as the year unfolded I had to readjust and adapt to the ever changing life’s situations.
Now that 2018 is coming to an end I look back and I’m satisfied with the outcome of every race. Was it all I wanted? No, it wasn’t. But it was what I needed to become a stronger and more resilient person.
I’m looking forward to what next year will bring, to the challenges and big dreams.. not only in running but also in my daily life.
Have you registered for a race? Which one?

Here’s to wishing I was gallivanting through Central Park again... can you tell I am dying for a vacation?? .
I just finished up my first classes coaching at @f45_training_biltmore today and I am an cloud nine. I am so freaking blessed to be able to work with people on their journey to becoming the best version of themselves and I cannot wait to watch this community grow.
Come join us for a class, you won’t regret it 💪🏼💙❤️
My #bestnine#bestnine2018 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
All for different reasons, these are my favourite races from this year.
From top left across:
LONDON 10K WINTER RUN- My first proper run after 4 weeks off injured, didn’t even know if I’d last 5 minutes. It was a massive gamble to take part in this race. I nearly got a PB 😀
WEYMOUTH BAY 10K - run was horrible, weather was horrible, but mum gave up get her Mother’s Day lie in to come and stand in the wind and rain to support me. She is the best.
BRIGHT FOR SIGHT 10K - bonkers night time run with everyone dressed up in flo glo, more of a party than a run, and for an amazing charity. I ran half of the race with a blind lad and his guide. He whooped my ass after 5k and I never caught him up!
BMF 10K - I just ran, for me, my perfect 10km, PB’d by over a minute and a half and that was the run when I felt I had wings. Runner’s heaven.
POOLE HALF MARATHON- because it was my first HM race, because it was Poole’s first HM ever and because it didn’t go to plan but I kept going and learned a lot that day. Especially about hydration in the heat!
NEW FOREST 10K- because it’s just the best place ever to run, it’s magical, and will always be my favourite run of the year.
FULHAM 10K- flat as a pancake and through the streets of beautiful Fulham and Chelsea, what’s not to like! I loved this run. And I got to stand next to Alistair Brownlee for all of two minutes!
RACE FOR LIFE 10K- run was literally 10 mins from home, I’ll never forget turning the corner and just seeing this sea of pink. Amazing. And it’s brilliant when you have an event that is inclusive of ALL abilities, makes it special.
MAVERICK SILVA DARK TRAIL 10K - without doubt my favourite run to date. Definitely not the easiest but it was my intention to start trail running this year and although I left it late to get going, this was a magical way to start. It’s quite something to feel safe running through a dark forest in the pitch black, women rarely get that experience. I cannot wait to do another one!
