If you want to know what someone thinks is important, just look at their schedule! The truth is, busy as we are, we MAKE TIME for what matters to us. We naturally prioritize what we WANT to do.💪🏻 When I started my fitness journey, I didn’t prioritize my health. Exercise and meal prep felt like a chore to me! 🙄
Can you imagine me saying that now?!😱 Taking care of ourselves shouldn’t feel unnatural or like a pain in the ass task. You should feel grateful you have the opportunity to train your beautiful body💕
Remember what’s truly important to us naturally becomes a priority. So how important do you rank your health?💪🏻
Thank you for being a member of my community. For being one of my people. 2018 was an incredible year for me, and I’m ending it with peace in my heart, confidence in who I am, and excitement about the possibilities for 2019 and beyond. I’ve done the work to get here, and I couldn’t have done it without you being part of my life. Thank you!
Today was one of those "I have GOT to get out of my head" kinda runs. 59 days until my marathon and I'm feeling anything but confident or even remotely ready....😩
A month ago I felt like I was in the perfect place mentally and physically. Then here I am today finding myself feeling the complete opposite. I had a few arguments with myself and may have given myself a few face slaps along this run. I have to keep the traffic entertained! Not giving up. Will never give up... This shit is HARD work! #wednesday#thoughts#hardwork#brooksrunning
Can you tell I had technology issues today??? 😑 I forgot my Garmin at home, so I tried the Apple Watch outdoor run then Apple Watch nike then phone Nike app then Apple Watch outdoor run started to work and my app crashed. 🤦♀️ At least it’s done. That’s all I got. That and I will remember my Garmin next time. #technologyfailedme
I love that I have balance now. I love that I'm proud of myself.
I love that I'm getting stronger and better everyday. My only purpose in life was competition; I was living for comparison, but the problem is that comparison is unrealistic because every single person has a different set of circumstances to navigate.
When I found running, I was lucky enough to have all of that change. Initially I would still get caught in a vicious cycle of accomplishing more and it still not being good enough. I remember saying: this was a good result, race, outcome, etc.. But if I could just do "that", I'd be happy. But when "that" happens, I would already be looking for the next reason why I'm not good enough.
All of this came from a place of of not truly loving myself. Not believing that I'm enough. The constant need to compare myself to others. I lived in a world in which I was trapped by my own insecurities. I was too afraid to put myself out there, to invest in myself. I'm not afraid anymore. I want people to think highly of me, but I stopped changing who I am for that to happen and I grew.
I always tell people that they're good enough, because it's true, and so am I.
Når man som mig fryser bare temperaturen går under 10 grader, ja så er det ikke sjovt at glemme hue og handsker til dagens løbetur hjem.

Marathon-Ultra training is already kicking my ass, although it might also be the whole moving/working/momming thing. Anywhooo it’s always good to run with my bestie @martine_runnermum and at least we have fun while we moan about how aerobic miles are basically the worst. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and all that, and I am very grateful but I am also very tired and ready for a long winter’s nap. Or hibernation. 🐻 Send coffee guys, I’m slogging through one mile at a time over here. 🏃🏼♀️💙🏃🏼♀️ #janplan#runuptochristmas#ru2c#theoutdoorsawaits#getagrip#festivefun#sendcoffee
👏🏽Pull 👏🏽 Pull 👏🏽 Pull 👏🏽
The only running action should be the PULL. Use your hamstrings to PULL your feet off the ground to avoid two major running faults:
🔸RUN FASTER AND LONGER: You'll be using your glutes and hammies, some of the most powerful muscles in your body, instead of relying on your much smaller hip flexors.
🔸AVOID INJURY: You'll be keeping your body in alignment and NOT landing out in front, which causes most run-related injuries.
Want our full training plan including pull drills so you can run better, faster, stronger? Join our team to prepare for your next race, increase your endurance, and improve your overall health. Join by the end of the month to lock in the $19/month price. Price will increase in 2019. Link in bio.
The mojo returns! 10 great miles today. 5 up then 5 back down.
I've reworked my training plan for the next couple of months.
Will be doing a race pace 5k in the next couple of days to see where I am, set a benchmark and work out my training paces.
Still plodding along in the first part of my base heart rate training 🐌
Little further and faster than on the plan this morning, but I needed the mental space 💕

I haven’t run in almost 3 weeks. My husband’s conclusion. 😂 Guess I’m going on a run soon?
I started running in April to keep myself accountable after a weight loss challenge ended. I have run every week, at minimum 2-3x/week, often times 4-5x/week. I went from running 60 seconds at a time to completing a half marathon. I was eventually working out 6 days a week, cross training, lifting weights, two a days, and increasing mileage and speed.
Some of those runs, especially if they fell on my husband’s day off, I had to fight for. Taking time for myself, was something we hadn’t seen Jessica do for a long time. I had 5 babies in 8 years. Before then I was a 20-something with no direction, working and partying my way through life. My hobbies included eating out and sleeping in. Then I had kids and my hobbies included never sleeping and being peed on.
I committed to taking some time off from running AND working out. The first week off, I was utterly EXHAUSTED. It felt like I was recovering from the flu. I had absolutely no energy. I had pushed and pushed and pushed my body. I truly believe I needed this time off. I was literally running on empty and didn’t know it.
So a run this week we shall try. Looks like someone wants to tag along. ❤️ In my defense, I’ve had a period somewhere during this 3 week time, and I’ve had so little periods in the last 10 years (hello pregnancy and breastfeeding) that I think he might be slightly thrown off by hormones vs running withdrawal.😂
And I apologize if my husband’s reference to my “sexy” legs offends some of you. 🤷🏼♀️ It is what it is and I’m pretty stoked that I haven’t shaved my legs in forever and he still considers them sexy. Soooo....🤔 #winning 🥳
#holidayrunstreak day 2️⃣ Forgot to turn on my gps until 1/4 mile in, so we will call today 1.?? miles. A blizzard is headed in overnight, and it’s supposed to lay down a nice layer of ice first before it drops 4-10” of snow (which is a lot for the Midwest), so we’ll see what tomorrow looks like. 🤷🏼♀️ #rwrunstreak
Here is what life with kids looks like when you try to take a selfie after the kids get home. I didn’t plan on running, but when it nears fifty degrees you run, even if you only have thirty minutes. I sat all day long so getting these legs moving felt great! #runnermompose

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by Heather McKirdy 🙋🏻♀️ (@itsheathersturn)
It happened. 10x800. Yeah. Already. That’s what I said too. 😑
They definitely did not go to plan, but I hung in there. I’m dubbing this the season of no excuses. IDGAF about weather or sleep or job stress anymore. They’re just hurdles.
Also I didn’t do track in high school, so I don’t know how to do hurdles but I’m working on it. 🤷🏻♀️
Plain and simple, I was not strong enough to pull off this workout to plan. YET 😈 Goal race is 102 days away. Lez go.
10x800s: 3:05 avg. | 10.69 miles @ 8:23 pace. Cheers fam ♥️🔥
Panic at the gym - I‘m back (with high hopes) 😃
Rein optisch scheint mir Feiern (li.

L’aventure touche bientôt à sa fin, mais What An Adventure 😍. 😇⛺️🔥 #onestpasicipouracheterdesdunes#halfmds#marathondessables#halfmdsperu#rockay
