It’s my favorite time of year. Personally I feel magic in the air all year round. So it’s really nice to be in the holiday season when more people are open to receiving that spirit all around us. Anticipation of what the new year will bring and letting go of the past. I go deep with my clients. We set intentions for what we want to manifest for the new year. We do energy clearing to let go of any ties that may be holding us back. We choose the feelings we want to experience more of in the coming months. We embody them now and release the rest. Fresh, clear and excited for what we are calling in. Preparing to do my annual Dream Walk with my soul family, I reflect on each area of life. As I began my own manifestation journey for this year, I noticed an intense pull to have more focus in the area of my business. As a leader I know you can relate.
The question I asked was:
What can do differently to support me BEING focused in 2019? What can I do more of? What can I do less of? Here is what started to emerge. A deeper distinction between the activities I choose to engage in to relax versus the things I choose to do that distract me. In 2018 my big theme was relaxation. So much healing and transformation arose from inviting this in. Here is one thing I want to share. This journey allowed me to take an inventory. If I want to be more focused, understanding that relaxing is a key component to igniting my creative flow, then what activities activate it and what numb me?
If you too are interested in creating more focused flow in the area of your business in 2019 then I invite you to do an audit of your chill time.
Ask yourself the following questions:
What “unplug” activities support my creativity, focus and leadership?
What activities suck me into distraction? Make me feel either tired or numb?
It’s a really powerful distinction.
Running & baking & running & baking! That’s what I’ve been doing this week! 🍪 🏃🏽♀️ I’m logging more stroller miles this week than usual but I know one day I will miss it, so I stay grateful. Kids grow at warp speed! 😭
Here are some of my stroller essentials for winter to keep Link warm:
1️⃣ Warm outfit with robe & slippers over top
2️⃣ Mittens & a stocking cap- gotta keep those extremities warm.
3️⃣ JJ Cole Bundle Me-toddler size- affordable, so warm & fits most jogging strollers.
4️⃣ Weather shield- we use this on windy days and for temps under 40.
It’s also important to check on your kiddo every 1-2 miles to make sure they’re still warm. I love that I can still hear Link with my @aftershokz on, but if he’s quiet we stop every two miles.
Any other stroller essentials? Do you prefer summer running or winter running?

Today’s running mantra: you are a star ⭐️ Even though today’s run was short, the mantra was on repeat in my mind to get me through them. It’s so funny how some long runs feel short and how some short runs feels long.
It’s just inevitable that my kids will never, all sleep in on the same day, so today when my oldest are sound asleep, little bro has to be bright eyed at 5:30 😴 so here we are with some coffee, and good book and snuggles! And I’m not complaining! #motherrunner#runnernotrunning#whatwhitread
Oh winter running...you confuse me with every degree you drop! Today’s 15 degree wake up called for one mile on the treadmill!
When I left my apartment this morning I was bundled in sweats, a T-shirt, sweatshirt l, winter jacket, and a winter hat (no gloves because I lost them🙈). When I finished my run I was dying and didn’t want to layer up so all I did was put on my jacket. 15 didn’t feel so cold after a nice sweaty run!!
My mom always had a rule growing up that we couldn’t wear shorts unless it was 60 or warmer. I can only imagine her face if she saw me in shorts today.
Still looking into a good running jacket so sub 20 so I can get back out in the morning! I’m gonna shoot for an outdoor run tomorrow and just layer like crazy. Winter running is weird...but I love it!
A new exercise i love to hate 🙈 👉👉👉side plank toe taps
Come into a side plank position on your forearm and side of your foot or with a knee bent. While holding firm in the plank with hips in the same plane as shoulders, lift the top leg slightly and tap its foot in front of you, then behind you.
Don't stop when you're tired, stop when you're done!
This was what I had to say to myself this morning when I was running the #treadmill. I got in 3.1 miles, but at around 1.5 I was tired and wanted to quit. I made all the excuses in my head and the negative talk was strong, but I pushed through. By the time I hit 1.7, I was back in the right mind frame and finished strong. And of course I feel amazing now!
Even positive people have negative talk that creeps in from time to time, but we have to train our brains to fight against it and push through to the finish.
What is your favorite quote to tell yourself when the negative talk tries to take over?
Good morning happy Tuesday friends! Well I kept tossing and turning all night and just couldn’t sleep so decided to wake up at 3:40am and get some extra miles before work lol 😆 managed 9 miles woohoo and the weather was 33 degrees but didn’t feel bad at all ☺️🙌🏽🏃🏽♀️❄️ photo from another day capturing sunset! Have a great day ✌🏽
First run in a week! I'm feeling really aimless with running right now and ready for marathon training to start at the end of the month so I have a real plan other than "Try not to lose my fitness level." It's too easy to let myself slide if I don't have a goal or solid plan in place. Here's to holding myself accountable without that plan for the next three weeks! Happy Tuesday!
7km of #strollerrunning disaster this morning ✅ Avg pace 6:05/km Avg HR 135bpm. We did 6 x 200m hill repeats but my heart rate stayed pretty low because we stopped approx 1.4million times 😂 Toddler was just not having it today! The tantrum started at school drop off because the teachers had set up some elves outside and he really wanted to play with them and it didn't stop until we got home 🤦 Stuff was being thrown out of the stroller left right and centre! He was angry about wearing mittens and not being able to eat his snacks with them on, so both of those went out the side and for some reason this also caused anger towards the blanket and his hat and they went overboard as well 🤷 I had to put the weather cover on to try and trap all the stuff he kept throwing out 😂 I'm sure all you other parents out there can imagine how angry that made him 🤣 When I was a kid and my parents laughed when I was being a nightmare, I thought they were being mean. Now I realize they laughed because that's really all you can do to keep from losing your mind with these crazy kids 🤣 Hope everyone is having better runs than us today 😉.
Advent Running Day 11 brought a runcommute to work.... IN ACTUAL DAYLIGHT! 🌞🎉
(Granted this is because I'm on a late shift and won't be out before 8 but meh, I'll take any small victory where I can get it!)
One thing I'm grateful for right now: the @advent.running family. Straight up, I'd have wasted a gorgeous morning without y'all because my legs felt *heavy*.
Tune of the day 🎶: Lindsey Stirling - We Are Giants 🎻
-7 yesterday morning during my run 🥶. Did a substantial warm up then 6x800m with 1 min rest in between. Did my best to run 4:30/km during the repeats. I find it endlessly difficult to run for more than a half hour when on my own 🙈. Missing the Harriers! (But happy to be seeing family and be on vacation ☺️🥰)

Advent Running Day 10 (delayed post) - in which I got to run with the neon army at our weekly 5km social run from our local running store (photos pending as they're not on my phone 🙈) Plus we had an extra treat as @saucony came in to let us try out some of their new kicks ✌️
Great vibes from the team, and a lovely little leg turner for those recovering from weekend races and long runs.
Props to @storminformin for coming back for more after yesterday's sufferfest, and to Chris for looking well on his way back from a long injury 🙌
One thing I'm grateful for right now: Chris' mad batch cooking skills (hello easy weeknight deliciousness 😋)
Tune of the day 🎶: Fountains of Wayne - Red Dragon Tattoo
Ok so I stopped my daily running, I’ve listened to my body & along with the cross training it basically told me to calm the f*ck down & so I did! 3 days of proper rest has worked wonders & I now feel refreshed, the moral of the story here is listen to your body & rest when you need to!
Ughh it’s Monday already lol 🙄 Kept it easy with 3 miles because it was so cold again 29 degrees and I’m always sleepy on mondays 😆🥶😴 Photo from yesterday at park having fun with my GoPro 📸😁👋🏽 Have a great day hope it goes quick! ☺️✌🏽
✅ 5 mile run this morning clocking in at about 8 min./mi.
It's hard for me to make myself slow down and be patient when getting back into shape! I find I need to do a little body scan every couple minutes to make sure I still feel strong and not like I'm fatiguing. If I do feel that unnecessary fatigue I focus on fixing my posture and stride to get back into the best rhythm for that particular run! #runlikeagirl#runnerstrong#trailrunning#morningrun#SundayRunday
