02 December // 10.5km // 10hr10mins
This was one of the first 10k runs I had done in a while. I used to run 10k in around 58mins but this was tough.
It was quite a hilly run, and I really struggled. Here's to knocking that time down.
Ever had a run so bad you felt like packing it all in? After 5.5 miles on saturday which felt pretty good I've been delaying going for a run because my right ankle has been aching a little.
After 3 days rest I thought I'd go for 2.5 miles to see how I got on and it's possibly my slowest run since I started. Felt alright for most of the first mile, then had awful stitch for the last mile and a half and spent more time walking than I did running, and my ankle is still aching a bit.
Planned to get out again on Friday for 2 or 3 miles then was hoping to do 6 miles Sunday but if today was anything to go by I'm not sure I'll be able to 😥
“Most women will engage with healthcare services at multiple points during their life – whether during pregnancy, routine cervical screening, treatment for gynaecological problems, accessing contraception or during menopause. It is a sad fact that funding for research into women’s health is proportionately lower than many other areas of healthcare. To ensure that women and their families are offered the best care for generations to come, we need to do everything we can to preserve and enhance research in this field. This is one of the key aims of Wellbeing of Women and that’s why the cause is very close to my heart.” Michelle, one of our amazing London Marathon 2019 runners! The last few days have been really difficult for me...I’ve been feeling pretty down and useless with everything and wondering what I’m doing or where I’m going next...but this evening, I received the news I really needed to pick myself back up and keep going! I applied for the London marathon earlier in the year and sadly didn’t get in for either a ballot or charity place. But, knowing how difficult it is to get in i knew I had plenty of future opportunity to do so. I was a little disheartened but the chance of getting it first time were minimal so put it out of my mind and looked forward to running the big half in March. However, just one hour ago I received the most fantastic news that I had been shortlisted for first on the waiting list for my charity place and that due to someone dropping out I have been offered a place to run the marathon in April. My first thought...fear...but then came the excitement and idea of how lucky I have been and how grateful I am for this once in a lifetime opportunity! I am beyond excited to challenge myself and raise money for the amazing London’s air ambulance. Some may say I’m crazy but if you ask me...I know dad was looking down on me and has given me the opportunity I needed to work towards something huge!! I WILL NOT let you down. The training starts now...BRING IT ON!!!!! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️ #londonmarathon#bringiton#weightlossjourney#ontheroadtofitness#oppertunityofalifetime#londonsairambulance#londonambulanceservice
I’ve been visiting Hull every year for over 20 years but I’ve never taken the time to explore Beverley. What have I been missing!! It’s such a jbeautiful place, especially on a clear dusky evening with the Christmas lights on. 💞💞
Tonight’s speed session. 7 x 1000m off 90s rec. Built into it and then held sub 3:20 for rest of session and gave it everything on last rep.
Improvement on last set of 1000m reps 5 weeks ago. Aiming to get them all under 3:20 then come spring sub 3:15. Total mileage today including warm up and cool down is 8 miles #ukrunchat#londonmarathon#strava#instarunners#winterrunderland

#LogicomCyprusMarathon is expanding!
As part of our efforts to spread the news for the Marathon and with the support of the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, we invited a number of sports travel agents, from different countries, to come and experience the traditional Mediterranean hospitality.
Paphos is actively looking to become a top sporting destination and the Logicom Cyprus Marathon is at the forefront of this effort. In 2018, the Marathon hosted around 2,000 foreigners, either for participating or spectating the race. @pafos_sporting_destination@pafosregion@pafoscity
But in Chicago is not the first marathon for me😤
The first one was in Helsinki in August (⏱3:57:29). After that there was another one in Los Angeles in February 2016. And this marathon opened my way to the big six marathons.
⏱3:25:13 for my age category to qualify for #chicagomarathon is was enought.
And what kind the first marathon from #wmmajors do you have? 🤔
