Tuesday Tips for Success
The T.I.P. Chart -- This chart is something I used in my agriculture classes when we had a new unit that the students didn't know very much about going into it or if there were a lot of terms. --
Super simple! Terms in one column, info in the second and a picture to help them remember in the last column!
AM SO EXCITED I COULD WET MY PLANTS!! 🌱🌻 -- Non Scale victory coming at YA! Today I actually did 30 seconds of push-ups 💪 Granted they were on my knees but they were legit push ups! This is something that in 34 years 👵 I never thought I would ever be able to do a push-up. Now I modified and was on my knees but I am feeling so excited of the progress that I've made in 6 months so maybe in the next 6 months I'll actually be able to do a real push up without the in the modification!!! -- Patience is something that I struggle with, I want results and things to happen now! This journey has taught me patience. If you pray for patience you will get it in some form or fashion! this journey is more than just health and fitness for me it is about strengthening my mind and my heart. I want to help other feel like this way and that they can do this too! -- I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday and there's some sort of victory that you find in today!
Spent this rainy day cooking #keto recipes 😋 From the broccoli and cheese soup with #Carbquick cheddar biscuits for lunch to #lowcarb peanut butter cookies (cookie recipe from Low Carb Spark). I love chocolate and peanut butter so I added in unsweetened cocoa powder to half the recipe so some of the cookies are a little darker than others. So much yum! It was the perfect day for #lowcarbcomfortfood I've been cross training this past week instead of running since I'm still having pain in the bones of my left foot but I think I will venture to the track tomorrow and try doing stadiums 😁. 🙏🏻 for a miracle but I will likely have to miss running the half marathon I signed up for in early March. I just don't see this improving enough to increase my mileage to the level needed in 3 months. Rest and heal now to run better in the future, I guess. 😞 #myleftfoot#ketoon#injuredrunner#runnersofinstagram#ketorunner#amistillarunner#imissrunning#soup#ketocookies#crosstraining#justwannarun#pityparty
I haven't run in a few weeks. Got the impulse walking into the gym today. Somehow a quick, breezy run turned into a hard 3.1 miler.
Needless to say I may lose my breakfast and feel all lightheaded. Eek!
Having quite the bad time finding time to run these days, yet I really wanna run the Riverbank Run 25k this year still... I work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 6:30am-5:30pm basically, then wanna make sure I have time to spend with my fiancé before bed, plus although I haven’t treadmill I use I’m itching to run outside but it’s always so dark when I’m up and dark when I get home
Tips/ideas for fitting running back into my schedule?? #help#fitnesshelp#runningadvice#imissrunning#gottarunmore#running#runner#fitness#gottagetontrack#ifeelbad
My view for today.
Second bone scan (this time with SPECT/CT) since the accident and I’m hoping to finally have some more progress. I was able to see an orthopaedic ankle specialist a couple of weeks ago as I have one of the screws that was placed in my ankle sort of sticking out of the scar/bone, which has been causing me quite a number of problems.
We’re now first, trying to assess whether there is any cartilage damage that would require fixing in another surgery and second, if the nerves have healed enough to be able to have a secondary surgery to remove all of the hardware. (3 screws and a plate)
So here’s to hopefully being healed enough and having no cartilage damage so I can get this hardware out (who would think another surgery would be good) and be able to move on from this whole ordeal and get back to everything!

Dear Running, I miss you. But don’t worry, this fluffy guy is making sure I don’t get too sad about it! ❤️🐶❤️
I swear he knows when I need extra cuddles 🥰 Do you have a pet? Do you think he or she is sensitive to your emotions? I have no doubt about it with Mr. TJ!

One of my closest friends said to me recently (who had a rockin' body) that she's not happy with this part, or that part of her body and I was sat there thinking I would do anything to look like her. We both agreed that most of the time there's usually something we'd like to change about our bodies
I'm quite happy with my body, I've accepted that I look the way I do and I don't plan on changing anything dramatically. However I've always had an issue with how any weight I gain sits straight into my stomach. At 5' 1" a little bit of weight can make a big difference to me.
Because I like cake, and sweets, and chocolate...and food of any kind I'm about half a stone heavier than I want to be. And now I can't run it off either #injury 😡
So, on top of doing some low impact exercising while my idiot leg heals I'm going to try and change how I think about food, and in particular make some better choices to see if I can shift some of this unwanted weight. I've accepted that I know I have an unhealthy connection with food and how I'm coping with trying to being an adult. I just need to work out how to fix this dodgy connection and be healthier!
Long story short...I bought these to try and kick start some kind of new way of thinking about the food I eat 😎 And hopefully the rest will follow!

With my crazy but exciting life lately and moving, I finally received this in the mail yesterday. I normally don’t care much for medals, T-shirts or finishing certificates, but this race was a special one and I love how the horrendous weather is highlighted on the left corner.😅 🌧 ❄️ 💨 I won’t be running Boston next year as I need to sit one out having raced in crappy weather for 2 consecutive years, but I will be back! Now that my life is calming down I can’t wait to plan my training and races for 2019.😻🏃🏻♀️
Hello out there. 👋 A quick check in before I dive back under for a few more days. That sore throat I was fighting has turned into a full blown cold - one of the worst I’ve had in years! 😷Spent a lot of time sleeping and staring vacantly at the TV this weekend, but also made sure to add in some very light stretching and foam rolling. 🙂🙃Worst part was knowing what perfect running weather I was unable to take advantage of. 🏃♀️🙁 I know I did the right thing, but definitely itching to get out there. Busy day today included writing sub plans and getting ready for a mandatory pull-out day tomorrow. #teacherlife. And with that, I’m off to sleep. 💤 📷 Picture taken on my drive to work this morning. A wonderful reminder that even on cruddy days, there’s good to be found. 🌇
All these Istanbul Marathon pics that were posted this past week have me majorly missing my running days! This was from one of my best races in 2012, the Istanbul Eurasian Marathon (I ran the 15k) The start (pictured) was on the Asian side of the Bosporus Bridge, then end being in Europe in Istanbul’s old city. It was a powerful race emotionally and physically.
