Be a warrior - not by physical strength, but by conquering your mind
It’s easier said than done, so let’s try something together: - observe your thoughts and feelings for the next 5 mins - watch them float by and disconnect from them.
When you feel good you feel good. Went slightly off plan (changed volume a little)
Did Macho Man @ 90kgs 3 power cleans, 3 front squats, 3 jerks. @toby_buckland thought it would be easy and he could beat me.... I stopped on round 16, round 1 took me 17 seconds, round 15 took me 28. Probably should have carried on but legs killed, I’ll leave you guessing on Toby’s score...... let’s just say he didn’t beat me 😏
Then did 30-20-10 on dumbbell snatch @ 30kgs, toes to bar and burpees, @jggoodspeed got involved as well.
Then me and T got in 5x5 backs squats @ 140kgs, last set was as an amrap I got 20 reps (last minute shown as it took 2mins 2 seconds). Monday off to a flyer 🙌🏼💪🏼

Well, that wraps my 2018 Spartan Race season as well as my first year as a CrossFit and Spartan athlete.
I've come a long way since my first race. My finish times have significantly gotten better. I'm able to do certain obstacles with ease now such as the Herc Hoist and Plate Drag, which I've needed assistance with in the past when I was still running in the Open heat. Two months ago, I decided to take it to the next level and run Age Group (Competitive), and so far it's been really fun yet much more challenging trying to keep up with these beasts.
The dudes in my age group today were freakin' fast, but that's great cause it really pushed me to run harder than ever. 🤮 I didn't place as high as I was hoping today, but I did finish almost 30 min faster than I did last year at Castaic so that's still a big accomplishment.
Also, gotta give a big thanks and much appreciation to my brother Allan (@sac_af68) and my friends Andy (@bunnyman42), Ryne (@rynesworld), Angela (@most_smartest), and De (@delovestrees) for always being there to motivate and cheer me on throughout this journey. Means a lot. ❤
Lastly, I just want to say to those who think to themselves "there's no way I can do that" that it's never too late and you're never too old. If I can go from never having a gym membership up until 14 months ago to joining a CrossFit gym and competing at Spartan Races, you can do this too. Anything is possible if you put in the time, and believe in yourself. Aroo! 💪🏽
💥NEW YEAR FITNESS GOALS💥
Hey guys!👋 I wanna talk about something that I haven’t discussed on my IG yet, and that’s what I plan to do with my fitness goals in the New Year. Currently, I’m not on any meal plan, & I’m going to the gym consistently as well as training pole a couple of days a week.
What I’m doing now isn’t bad, it’s just not where I want to be. My calories everyday are all over the place: I’ll under eat one day, and over eat the next. I’ll eat healthy at one meal, and binge eat on junk the next. I have no structure or organization, and while it’s working right now, again, it’s not where I want to be. 😣
BUT for the New Year, I want to change all that. I want to structure my eating more, and create a healthy meal plan that I can follow easily, and work it around my work & gym schedule. I’m taking a holistic nutrition course right through @alivehealth which has really helped me to gain better insight on what to eat, when to eat, how to meal plan & prep, and just basically how to do it all right. I’ve been wanting to use my new knowledge to devise a meal plan that has me on a slight bulk in the new year (more calories than I’m expending) so I can increase my volume & training at the gym, and then reassess my meal plan around spring time 😄🌱
As for gym goals in the new year, with my new bulking program I’m going to start training harder, and lifting heavier. I want to be more serious with my training & eating goals, but still allow myself some flexibility with a cheat meal here and there 🤪 & making sure I listen to my body when it’s injured, and actively recovering when it does happen 💪
TL/DR? Here’s my summary of my 2019 fitness goals below 👇
👉maintain healthy bulk through excess calories
👉train harder, lift heavier 👉be flexible, cheat meals once in a while are fine, & listen to my body when it’s sore & needs rest -
Tell me, what are your 2019 fitness goals? I would love to hear them! Send me a DM or comment below! 😃👇

2 years of working my 🍑 off and I finally feel like I’m getting to a point where my goals are changing 🥳 ——
I worry less about my macros. I eat when I’m hungry. I make sure at least one meal per day is filled with TONS of veggies. My protein intake is much lower now, usually around 70g per day. My fat intake is higher...I enjoy eating plenty of bacon and avocado every day! 🥓🥑 My carbs are usually around 120g per day (but sometimes as much as 200g/day). I Crossfit for 1 hour, 3-4x per week, and then add in 1-2 days of strictly weight lifting 🏋🏻♀️ ——
My body is working with me, and I consistently have a few pounds of fat loss every month without even trying. I feel like I’m in maintenance mode, yet I’m still seeing progress. It’s A-MA-ZING what can happen when your body realizes that you will ALWAYS feed it. That you will ALWAYS provide it with movement and exercise. I haven’t gained a single pound back that I’ve lost over the past couple years. I was 190lbs when I started CrossFit 2.5 years ago...and today I am 150lbs with a shit ton more muscle too 💪🏼 #fitwithjojoandbritt#crossfitmom#crossfitgirl#utahgram#utahmom#cftp
